On December 3rd, representatives from Zhonghe Energy Storage Company visited the Middle East and attended the 15th International Conference on Applied Energy (ICAE2023) held in Qatar. The theme of this year's conference is "Energy Transition towards Carbon Neutrality", aimed at addressing interdisciplinary challenges related to sustainable future goals. The directions covered include clean energy conversion technologies, renewable energy (including hydrogen), mitigation technologies, intelligent energy systems, energy storage, energy science, energy management, and corporate sustainability, as well as policies, ethics, energy economics, and regulations.

As mentioned in the report, Zhonghe Energy Storage, as a leading global manufacturer of key materials and energy storage equipment for liquid flow batteries, can provide high-performance core materials, stacks, and systems for research institutions, startups, and other clients worldwide who are trying to commercialize liquid flow batteries, helping them accelerate the engineering research and application of new technologies and ultimately achieve rapid commercialization goals.

Zhonghe Energy Storage also introduced the sulfur iron flow battery technology that the company is developing to the attendees:

This technology starts from first principles and selects the electrolyte system with the lowest raw material cost, which has the ability to reduce the installation cost of flow batteries to a level close to that of lithium batteries. Considering that the service life of flow batteries is usually two to three times that of lithium batteries, the full life cost of sulfur iron flow batteries will only be about half of that of lithium batteries, which is about 0.2 yuan. Coupled with the cost of wind and solar power generation of 0.2 yuan, this combination can reduce the cost of new energy generation to the same level as thermal power generation, and has the basic conditions for large-scale replacement thermal power generation.
